Anthropological Society: Black Lives Matter Statement of Support

The UTSA Anthropological Society stands side-by-side with our black brothers and sisters to speak out against centuries of racism and violence perpetrated by ignorance, hatred, and fear. As students of anthropology, we understand the importance of listening and learning from people’s stories and we hear our black members, black students, black professors, black staff members, and black communities’ voices. We support the protests against the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and countless others, and we categorically reject racial violence. We commit to educating ourselves and those around us on the story of humanity; a story that is incomplete without the story of Black Americans. Black Lives Matter!
