Doctoral Student Rebecca Friedel Wins Fulbright to Develop Archaeology Program in Belize

August 19, 2020

We wish to congratulate UTSA doctoral student Rebecca Friedel on her recent receipt  of a Fulbright - International Institute for Education grant to help develop the new Anthropology/Archaeology Program at the University of Belize. As Rebecca wrote in her application, the "new program is essential for making cultural resource management more accessible to the Belizean people," and it will help the university "in their pusuit to produce ecologically and socially responsible graduates that are prepared to meet both national and global challenges," including "environmental degradation, conservation, sustainability, and climate change." Congratulations, Rebecca--we know you and your Belizean students and colleagues will learn so much from each other!
